Water and land regeneration

At Gecko Formentera, our commitment to fighting climate change, promoting sustainability, and supporting more responsible tourism is reflected in concrete actions.

Among them, we have implemented a new wastewater treatment plant (EDAR) with tertiary treatment, allowing us to reuse water for irrigation and compost fresh organic waste, thus reducing our environmental impact.

This initiative has been made possible thanks to a grant under the De minimis aid scheme for the financing of energy efficiency and circular economy projects in tourist establishments, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU.
